I just finished an oldie episdoe of ER – with George Clooney in it, that’s how old – and I feel so sorry for him
his fiance (Hathaway for ER fans :p) just cheated on him! And to make it worse..it was the night he planned to whisk her away and marry her
Poor Clooney; I don’t normally think he’s cute, but after watchig ER, I’m a little in love
ANYWAY!
I never got hungry for lunch. It was very frustrating!! My appetite seemed to have gathered up its’ belongings and left..So at 2.45, I figured I should chomp down on something light but calorific, so I had a biiig pot of full fat Greek yogurt (there was 260cals in that one pot, HOORAY!) with a couple of raspberries:
I also had a whole load of veggies which needed using up – red cabbage, kale, spinach, along with a load of other stuff I wanted.
Soo I got the rest of the cabbage, and threw it in a saucepan with a shallot, some apple cider viegar, mixed spice, salt and pepper, and a dash of water:
I cooked that up til it was all softened, and the cider vinegar had reduced and caremalized somewhat. I then added it to a pan with the kale and stir fried it with a bit more vinegar
That was put away to keep warm, so I had pan space to stir fry a whole load of spinach, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in a lil more vinegar
And then VOILA! I mixed it all together in a bowl, sprinkled a few soya nuts on top and I had a lovely lunch
It hit the spot nicely
On a completly random and different note, my dear Chika got a new rug in the post today – doesn’t she look pretty in it!?
(Really that was just an excuse to put a photo of Chika up here :p)
Snack time involved a little slice of some fruit loaf thing I have in my freezer, and a Laughing Cow blue cheese square – darn those are gooood!! – and a hot chocolate.
Enjoyed whilst reading the newspaper and watching ER
Apparently, what with all the freezing cold weather over here, oat sales have shot up, so the poor folk at Quaker Oats are having to work round the clock to keep up with demand – I think that’s so cute :p
Dinner was just FABULOUS! I picked up some veggie sausages in the supermarket today, and then I thought..sausages and mash. But I don’t like white potatoes, so I did the old butterbean mash instead
Butterbeans, crushed with salt and pepper, a tiiiny dash of vinegar and cinnamon, and a blob of cream cheese:
I also peeled and diced about a 1/4 of a little apple (the rest went to the horse :p) with a shallot
and stir fried them together so they went all soft and caremalized
I matched all that with a selection of my fave veggies roasted – squash, parsnip and broccoli
I love saving all my favourites for the last meal of the day
The results were deeellicious !!
(the mash is hidden under the sausages :p)
Apple and onion are so good together, they fit, like cheese and crackers or Brad and Angelina – just so perfect together
My evening snack consisted of…..hot chocolate! And yogurt!! I bet you’re all surprised, non!?? I also tried out ANOTHER new sort of cookie:
But to be honest, it wasn’t all that good..after nibbling a corner to try, I decided to have half of one of them and a square of Lindt 70% – I can’t help it, NOTHING beats good quality dark chocolate!!
And now I’m DONE – I’m thinking a (fairly) early night with the new issue of Heat magazine; nowt beats a trashy gossip magazine on a skanky cold rainy night
Goodnight everyone!

Just found your blog
I must say, I think England has the right idea, having Ben & Jerry’s in the movie theatre. I was in a theatre in Poole a few years ago and I was amazed…and in love!
Love old-school ER episodes – there’s a channel over here (US) that plays 2 episodes a morning & they’re almost always old ones!
Oh totally, the cinemas here have it sorted! The only down side is we have about 6 flavours…I’ve seen the American B & J website and you guys have about 100!! I am S O jealous!
ER is the best, I’m so addicted now :p glad I’m not in the US though, I’d get nothing done if I saw two episodes every morning
Thanks for stopping by btw! I hope you come back, I’d love some more readers
