Gah, I couldn’t slee last night – I was soo tired, but my room was too warm (heavan knows how with a broken radiator) and I couldn’t stop thinking! I had such a busy head! And it hit me:
When I’m really stressed (like now), my old demons like to come out to play a little bit. Nowhere NEAR like what they were, but they’re in my ear, and I realised that the reason why I sooo wanted to run today was – for once, this is very VERY rare! – because I just wanted to burn calories! That is not how I want my exercise to be. Exercise is for enjoyment, so it upset me that my head was thinking like this again. I knew it was because of the stress this week, and I know I’m still recovered and all that, but it made me realise; I need to challenge my cognitions on days like this. So,
fresh start!
Although I do love my running, as a challenge to myself to prove I can – today is a no running day!! I need to have one to prove that I can. And my middle toe is sore this morning, and I don’t want to aggravate it and injure myself
Just randomly, cos I thought of it – another motivation not to run today and r-e-l-a-x is Allie’s blog over on Live Laugh Eat – I was reading her About page,and I really connected with it, We have such similar stories and are in very similar stages in life (down to the Psycholog degree!), so her blog was helpful too
In conclusion to my (yet more) ranting…
Today is a relaxing, let-my-body-freshen-up day! A day where I can practice just being normalĀ :D I’m sitting here drinking a hot chocolate before I go get my breakfast when I’ve finished this post
I actually made breakfast and lunch yesterday as I’ve got a full day of lectures. Today, it’s a pear-oat smoothie!
- 1/3cup oats
- 1 pear – the whole thing, the only bit I cut off was the stem
- 1/2cup cottage cheese
- 3/4cup soya milk
- a handful of Fru-Grains
- a squeeze of agave
- a dash of cinnamon (I’m all about the adjectives this morning :p)
Blended all up =
Should be good! I’ll know in about 10mins
The lunch I’ve made today consists of prawns, butterbeans, roast broccoli and sprouts, and 2 tomatoes (not cherry ones, normal size ones) with a load of bbq seasoning. I’m sure there was something else in the mix…but I can’t think for the life of me what! Anyway, lunch =

I’ve also got some carrot sticks and an apple/banana packed, but I should be finished by 3….thank goodness! Then it’s HOME FOR THE WEEKEND!! I really really need home at the moment

I hear ya on the whole exercising thing Just wbtibg to burn those extra calories! It’s hard not to listen to that voice :/
I gets easier – the voice I have used to be like a foghorn – it’s just a tiny tiiiiny whisper now
give it 2months and it’ll be gone!
