Check it out!!
I discovered how to write in colour! Yeah, I’m a bit of a retard when it comes to computers, hence why it’s taken me a whole month to realise that I don’t need amazing html skills to write differently on WordPress – I just needed to click the button that showed the rest of the toolbar. Oops…
Today: I woke up – after a slightly dodgy nights’ sleep (I had to open my window, despite it being sub zero outside, cos it was SO HOT indoors!) – to wind and rain and cold!! MISERABLE. And for once, I actually felt like I was lacking a bit of motivation to run; that never happens, even in bad weather. In fact with bad weather, it usually has the opposite effect – I feel mega proud of myself if I’ve run in the snow or something, it”s like a bigger achievement. SoI thought I’d go out anyway, cos normally I get over any humps I’ve had about the run after the first 30secs. But not today – the whole thing felt like it went really slow, and my face was freezing off too! And I accidently changed the setting on Garby, so she was squeaking at me at every mile, but not giving me my pace time. Very frustrating!! I was quite relieved when I’d finished. I did 10k (6.2miles) in 52mins (I’d decided lying in bed last night I was going to do 6, so that was what I did! However, I threw out the plan to do a fast/pace run type 6, and just did it slow). Garby stats:
- Lap 1 – 8.12
- Lap 2 – 8.04
- Lap 3 – 8.20
- Lap 4 – 8.29
- Lap 5 – 8.38
- Lap 6 – 8.26
- Lap 7 – the last 200m or so, to make it up to 10k – 1.53
Oh, and I almost forgot – prerun, I tucked into a square of Lindt, a cheese square and a nice juicy apple
It was surprisingly filling! When breakfast time came round, I really wasn’t peckish….BUT, when I’d been running, I’d had one thing on my mind, so I was (in my head, if not my stomach) dying for breakfast:
Silky smooth and runny….dreamy! One question to PB fanatics tho – what do you do with all the oil on top!? I gave the mix a good stir, put the lid on and shook it about, but there was still loads of liquid at the top. Are you meant to drain it!? Anyways, a cold, miserable day always calls for hot peanut butter banana oats. Oh yes!
In the mix – 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup & 1/4ish milk, a banana, cinnamon, and 1 v big tsp of PB cooked into the mix, then another v big tsp over the top. I also stirred in some toffee caramel yogurt, and sprinkled it (or dusted?) with the crushed bits at the end of my Fru-Grains box (there’s not much left now
)
Oh it was SO good! Just as I had imagined!! The PB flavour ran throughout, with extra PB-ness on top…and with the banana too (today the banana cooked PERFECTLY), it was just AHmazing!! The only downside was the yogurt didn’t quite work; one or the other I think, not PB and yogurt at the same time – but that was only swirled in the middle, so I just ate that first
But holy yum!!
Then it was lecture time (social psychology, which I love); surprisingly good! I love my lecturer. He’s from Cananda so he has a wonderful accent, and he says really American-y phrases, like ‘super awesome’ LOL! It’s comic to me
I suppose you had to be there…
When I got home, I finished off the last of my papaya chunks while I got lunch cooking:
I tried to keep lunch on the less filling side today, cos I’ve got to have dinner at 5pm (I have an evening class) so I didn’t want to get too full. On the menu:
Roasted all together – chickpeas, brussels, broccoli, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cabbage!
I also made a dressing; I got a tsp of the weird PB oil, and mixed it with soy sauce, agave nectar, and the cinnamon spice blend I use lots:
I mixed it with a little bit of water cos it was a tad thick, then poured it all over the veggies and chickpeas, and baked for 20mins. Sadly, I made the sauce too thin, so a lot of it got left in the pan..but what was on the veggies (and my fingers after I cleaned the pan with them :p) was DELICIOUS! Sweet and salty and all together brilliant! I served it all with some spinach:
Can’t get enough of the green stuff!!
It was a really good lunch
And now I have exactly 1hr8mins to get the rest of my prep work finished for tonight, before I need to go make a start on dinner! Have a good afternoon

Don’t drain it! Just stir and stir and stir some more and it should all be one again
If you store it upside down, that should actually prevent it from seperating
I just went and flipped it upside down now – thankyou!!
I just discovered your site
I love it, lots of fresh ideas for me
p.s. peanut butter + bananas = DELICIOUS
PB oil is very annoying to get rid of, I agree, but you just have to really stir it for awhile! As Evan said, storing it upside down keeps it from separating. And also store it in the fridge! Then it won’t separate at all
I got just as excited when I found the dark chocolate dreams variety from the same brand! It is good shiz!
Where did you get it out of interest?
Edna x
PS. I just stir the oil back in. I find it doesn’t do it after the first time, its probably where its been sat on a shelf for a bit…
I got it from Tesco
Dark chocolate dreams variety PB!? Goodness that sounds incredible! Definetly an American thing I’m assuming….:s
Thanks for all the stirring tips everyone
It takes me awhile to figure out technology things:) I love the PB stirring tips
your lunch looked super healthy and your breakfast super yummy!! I love how you experiment with things, I would never have thought of using the PB oil in a dressing.
It worked really well actually – plus it was peanut butter flavoured..how could it not work!?
