Good afternoon folks! And how is everyone?
I’m fine and dandy cos I only have TWO more hours of lectures left today, praise be! This morning consisted of statistics (my Monday lecture which got moved to 9am today) and cognitive II <- this is single handedly the worst lecture known to man. I HATE COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY AND I’M NOT AFRAID TO ADMIT IT!
Before this terror of a day started though, I bounced out of bed nice and early, ate a little crispbread crackery type food, and went for a quick speed run:
- Mile 1 – 7.27
- Mile 2 – 8.54
- The last 1.01km – 5.26
= 4.22km in 21mins
It was so difficult!! I did the first mile fast and I was so gaspy at the end – how on earth did I ever manage a 7.03min mile, let alone 13miles in a 7.50/mile pace!? MAD! I don’t know if it was cos it was really cold this morning (I’ve heard it’s harder to breath when it’s cold – is that true?) or what, but meh – you can tell I found it difficult going by the pace of my 2nd recovery milk – I haven’t been that slow in AGES!!
Actually when I got back today, my chest was hurting and I have a raspy cough thing going on
I think my body is throwing a tantrum at having its’ schedule changed. Well, TANTRUMS DON’T WORK IN THIS HOUSEHOLD, MRS BODY! Hmph. Body will have to suck it up and deal I’m afraid!
Then I got ready super quick for my stats lecture – which the lecturer turned up HALF AN HOUR LATE to (his excuse? His kitchen is being redone. Whateevveeerrr!!) and drank my lovely blueberry and banamamama breakfast smoothie when I arrived!
Smoothie consisted of:
- a pot of 0% greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup soya milk
- 1/2cup blueberries ( a pack of blueberries is normally about £2.99 – imagine my delight at the pack I got – reduced to clear at £1!! SCORE!)
- 1 banananama
- a squeeze of agave
- a load of cinnamon
- 1/4cup oats
Minus the packaging, I threw it all in my (roomate’s) trusty blender:
I whipped myself up a storm of a delicious breakfast!
Pure yummyness. I do love a homemade breakfast smoothie once in a while
Except I made it last night…so kind of forgot that by today, it was basically blended overnight oats…in that the oats expanded and absorbed the liquid, so I had to eat it with a fork! Wonderful.
On my way out of the lecture hall, I saw a herd of really fat ducks waddling down a steep hill. You ever seen that?? It’s the CUTEST thing!! (I say herd…I know you don’t get herds of ducks, but I’m in a tip-of-the-tongue state and can’t think of the correct word, as I’ve been primed by my horsey knowledge…something from Cognitve II obviously had an effect :p)
The rest of morning’s eats consisted of:
A nectarine:
(Loovvving the beautiful red/orange colours of that fruit – I’d forgotten how pretty (and tasty) they were! It’s literally been YEARS since my last nectarine. How I missed thee.)
Cherry tomatoes:
And soya nuts, mixed with my cinnamon spice blend:
Love those nuts; they pack a powerful old protein punch – almost 10g for a 25g serving! Impressive
Lunch was 1/2 a can of red kidney beans, mixed with roasted aubergine, brussels, mushrooms and broccoli (with added cinnamon spice blend :p), and a tin of sardines:
Very fabby tasting, but I’m almost slightly disapointed that I’ve eaten sardines – without even trying, I’ve had three vegetarian days in a row! I’ve decided I’m going to try and be ‘vegetarian’ as much as possible, just to see what happens…I’d love to be full vegetarian, but being on a student budget with often quite a tight schedule, I’m not sure how well it would work. But only at this time in my life! I do hope to make the full switch at some point
AND :O I can’t believe I forgot!! Tuesday was PANCAKE DAY!! I don’t care for pancakes, but I do like the idea of giving something up for lent!! However I’m yet to decide what to give up :p I once gave up glitter pens (I haven’t used one since that day. Amazing.)….what are you giving up, if anything, for Lent? Leave a comment, I love hearing about that kind of thing!!
Anyway – must run to my next lecture; back this evening
