Good afternoon! And how is everybody on this fine and sunny day? For the first time in almost an Ice Age, the SUN is SHINING! It’s still proper chilly but it’s such lovely weather
In my original plans, I was going to do some workout DVDs today (make the most of being at home and all), but when I woke up and saw such pretty weather, I felt a run was called for. Especially since my tremendously wet week of running….
I didn’t really know how far I wanted to go, I just knew I wanted to (and needed to – running is a fabby stress reliever). I ate an apple, a tbsp of wheatgerm and a little tiny cube of fudge before I set off into the lovely weather
I’m so glad I went! I ended up doing ten miles in 1hr 22!! Sure was worth getting out of bed for
It went really quickly too, I felt like I could have kept on going forever! The only thing that really stopped me was the fact that I have all this revision and work to do :s Every minute counts with that stuff! Garby stats:
- Mile 1 – 8.21
- Mile 2 – 8.24
- Mile 3 - 8.08
- Mile 4 – 8.04
- Mile 5 – 7.56
- Mile 6 – 8.00
- Mile 7 – 8.12
- Mile 8 – 8.19
- Mile 9 – 8.10
- Mile 10 – 8.21
- 28m – 9seconds
Good times!! Breakfast was a Good Times breakfast too – Carrot and Banana Oatmeal: I’d read on a different blog a few days ago about the blogger adding grated carrot to their oatmeal, so I thought I’d give it a whiz! Especially as the banana that I had was pretty small and badly needed eating…
Black one have all the flavour I think
So in my pot, I combined:
- 1/2cup oats
- 1 cup and a 1/2maybe milk
- a tiny banana
- half a large carrot, grated
- cinnamon and nutmeg
- 1/2tsp vanilla extract
Cooked all up…then topped with 2tbsp Grape Nuts, 1 tbsp museli, 1tsp peanut butter and a few almonds.
Delightful!! You couldn’t taste the carrot as such, though you could the texture. It was very good, but I think I’ll stick to my banana oats…though the added nutmeg and vanilla went down a treat
Rest of the morning – REVISION READING! Wahey. GREAT fun. I would have ridden, but my sister took her horse out for a ride, and Chika has panic attacks when she is alone (bless her, she freaks out so bad!! She needs a sedative :s), so I left her be.
I did find time in between all the reading to photograph Obama, for some Obama LOVE time <3
Oh she’s too precious :p Her boyfriends arrive next weekend too….:p
My very very late lunch was pretty uneventful – I was totally not hungry for it
So I just did exactly what I fancied: a bowl of roasted brussel, broccoli, mushrooms and yellow cherry tomatoes, covered in garam masala and s&p:
Which I had with a piece of wholemeal bread, covered in peanut butter and half a banana
Apart from squash and cinnamon, is this, quite possibly, THE BEST combination in the world!? It doesn’t come much better…sometimes I wonder how I spent 19years [wasted] hating peanut butter so…I’m glad I’ve found the way
Quick question for everyone:
I was reading healthytippingpoint.com, and the subject of Fat Talk was on the agenda – you know, ‘I feel fat…I shouldn’t have eaten that….I’m having a fat day….etc’. Do you guys suffer from it? And if so, how do you deal with it?
I for one get it, and I’d love to hear other people’s tips as to conquering the evilness of it
Anyway, I have a big decision to make now – riding or yoga!!??

So jelous you have a horse! Have you ever tried western?? I learned english style but when i go to the states i love how laid back (and comfy) western riding is in comparison!
I really hate fat talk, i know it cant always be helped but what annoys me most is when i hear girls talking about it to each other. In my opinion vocalising it just spreads the insecurity to others, ‘fat talk’ is a bitch thats best ignored!
xx
I’ve tried Western once I think..but I was waaay younger so I don’t remember it! I think I’ll always be an English style girl at heart – I love my dressage too much to do western
They had a whole thing in the paper on it today – so sad
Completely agree about the fat talk to each other thing!! It’s even worse when it’s the little people (ie 6yr olds!) that are doing it
I ate a single jaffa cake yesterday and started the fat talk! I had to give myself a mental slap in the face, it was only a bloody jaffa cake so its not going to kill me but because I had not planned to have it I went in to fat talk overload x
Good for you and the mental slap! Isn’t it stupid how we can convince ourselves such stupid tiny things are a big deal!!?? Women are silly sometimes :/
